The Snake Root in Belgium

Snake Root (Calla palustris) is a poisonous water plant along the banks of nutrient-rich water is growing. In Belgium, the plant is found in the valley of the Black Brook.


The plant belongs to the arum family (Aracaeae) and has a spadix surrounded by a white spathe. The leaves are heart shaped and have a sharp point.
